The Heart Behind Oh So Happy Co.

Back in the fall of 2019, after many months of dreaming, I launched Oh So Happy Co. out into the world. However, the story of how Oh So Happy Co. came to be started back in 2016, in a college residence hall with a young girl trying to combine her love of art and creativity with the good news of Jesus. Of course, at that time it wasn't called Oh So Happy Co. and it wasn't much more than a way to keep myself busy during my work shifts. But, I had dreams of what it could be and how I could use the gifts God gave me to make a difference to other people.

Fast forward a few years and I actually worked up the courage to launch Oh So Happy Co. on Etsy. I poured my heart and soul into it while I was furloughed from my job and had a lot of free time on my hands. That was in 2020 when the world was quiet and everyone was isolated and looking for hope. It felt like the perfect time to be leaning into this dream of mine, and it was certainly the time to be spreading encouragement and happiness in the world.

At the time, I had decided to leave the faith focus on the side because I wanted to reach more people and I truly thought I could only do that if I quieted my faith, and made my message more generic about happiness. It worked for a little while, but I couldn’t really shake the feeling that it wasn’t right. Of course it wasn’t! How could I possibly have a shop and a community encouraging joy if I wasn’t going to talk about where my joy comes from? Not to mention, how can I claim to have such a life changing faith if I wasn’t talking about it and wanting everyone I know to experience the same life change? 

So here it is: the heart behind Oh So Happy Co. is encouraging you to find joy and happiness, through love of Jesus. 

In 2025, Oh So Happy Co. is making a shift. It will always be about spreading joy, but this time I’m going to make it clear that it’s about joy in Jesus. He is where the joy is! The shop will look different however, because all the new designs I have been working on are faith-based with the intention of pointing you to Jesus. 

My prayer is that these designs will encourage Christians to be bold in their faith, proclaiming it proudly everyday. It’s also that these designs will reach people who don’t know Jesus, that they may know the goodness of our Creator.  My life has been forever changed by knowing Christ and being in relationship with Him, and I hope you all get to experience that same joy in Jesus!
