Hey there! Welcome to the Oh So Happy Blog. I’m so excited to be creating this space to share my heart, encourage others, and foster a community!
I’m Leah, the creator of Oh So Happy Co., and pursuer of my most joyful life. I’m 28 and living in Upstate South Carolina where I’ve been for seven years. There are pivotal moments in my life that led me to where I am today, and all of those things played a role in the creation of Oh So Happy Co.
I grew up in New Hampshire but made a big move when I graduated high school and headed off to college. I moved away from home, and my family, to attend Western Kentucky University (Go Tops!). Moving away was both one of the hardest and most rewarding things I’ve ever done. I missed my family terribly, but Kentucky brought me so many wonderful gifts that really impacted my life. One of the biggest was finding myself. And yeah, I know that sounds cliché, but it’s true. I finally felt like I truly fit in and had a community. I had friends who were believers like me and talked about their faith – out loud. I was pursuing the career I wanted. I was learning to be away from my family and still have fun and enjoy life. I was learning to make the most of those very short 4 years.
When I graduated, I had plans to move to Nashville. I told myself I would do whatever it takes to get there because that’s where I wanted to be. But then I got called for an interview in South Carolina, in a town I had never been to and knew nothing about. I went because it was a job opportunity, but it turns out that God wasn’t actually leading me to Nashville after all. Seven years later, I couldn’t be more glad that I let God lead the way!
As I look back at my life, and especially these last 7 years, I’m in awe of just how God has worked in my life. It’s not easy, let me make that clear. I had my own plan but it never would have brought me the joy that His plan did.
I started Oh So Happy Co. as a way to combine my love for design and hand-lettering with the good news of the Gospel and my desire to spread encouragement and joy in the world. Oh So Happy Co. is about choosing to focus on the things that bring you joy and sharing that joy with others. I believe that there can always be more happiness, joy, and sunshine in this world – so let’s spread it together!
